Are they Stress-Free? Examining Stress among Primary School Teachers in Tanzania

Teachers enter the profession with enthusiasm for new adventure. Unfortunately, when they start working, encounter circumstances that give rise to stress. The present study, which used a sample of 550 participants from 50 primary schools selected Kisarawe district in Coastal Region Tanzania, examines extent stress among school teachers and factors influencing Overall, results indicate teachers’ levels range low moderate. Moreover, hierarchical regression analysis such as sex, class size, age, career intentions teaching subject significantly predict study concludes there is need government, policymakers administrators reduce workload. Furthermore, particular should be supportive design mechanisms could develop sense collegiality order improve teacher-to-teacher relationships.
